This policy explains what information Draw Me A Story, LLC collects when you visit drawmeastory.shop or buy from us, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Order details: your name, email address, shipping address, and the items you buy.
- Messages you send us through the contact form, and your email address if you join our mailing list.
- Basic technical information your browser sends, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. Our website host uses this to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Site usage information from Google Analytics, but only if you click Accept in our cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy.
We never see or store your full card number. Payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe.
How we use it
- To take payment, print and ship your books, and deliver your downloads.
- To answer your messages and send order and shipping updates.
- To send our occasional newsletter, only if you signed up for it. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- If you allow analytics, to see which pages are useful so we can improve the site.
Cookies and analytics
Our site uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage. Some are needed for the site to work, such as remembering your cart. Google Analytics runs only after you click Accept. If you click Decline, or never choose, no analytics code loads and nothing is sent to Google. Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page. Our fonts are hosted on our own site. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a request to opt out. Analytics stays off for that browser unless you click Accept in our cookie banner yourself.
Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Stripe, to take payment.
- Lulu, our print and shipping partner, to print and deliver your books.
- Netlify, our website host, which also receives contact and newsletter form submissions.
- Sanity, which stores our site content and order records.
- Resend, which sends our order and shipping emails.
- Google Analytics, only if you accepted analytics.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to fill orders, handle returns, and meet tax and accounting rules. We keep newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in our Analytics account.
How we protect it
Our site runs over HTTPS. Payments are processed by Stripe, and download links are signed and expire. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who can see your information to the people and services that need it.
Children
Our books are made for children, but this website is meant for parents, guardians, and teachers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and residents of other states may have similar rights under their state laws. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
Visitors outside the United States
We are based in the United States, and your information is processed there. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we process order information to fill your order, analytics information only with your consent, and security information because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the site safe. You may also ask for a copy of your data, object to processing, withdraw consent at any time, or complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
